"The Best Laid Plans" is a 20" x  20" drawing reboot of the Montparnasse train derailment of 1895. This is the 8th piece in my Color Study Series. Offered in black and white and in color, the color treatment is inspired by the iridescence often seen in spilled oil. A resurrection of catastrophe, I spent time digging through this wreckage to salvage any shred of beauty.
